Taj the giant elephant

Taj the giant elephant was a fantastic project with P6 of Balmoral Primary School, Galashiels. She was to be paraded through Galashiels high street as part of the commonwealth games handover from dehli to Glasgow ceremony.

 
Over a period of 12 workshops, together we designed taj, through looking at images and models of Indian elephants. Starting with drawings and clay modelling and moving on to willow structure work, cladding the structure with material and finally painting and decorating Taj.

This project through many challenges our way, how to make it a moving elephant, how to wear it etc. The end product was a great achievement by the whole group.
